About Coralville Reservoir Wildlife Area

 

Located along the Coralville Reservoir in Johnson County, Iowa, the Coralville Reservoir Wildlife Area consists of over 8,000 acres of water, wetlands, forests, and grasslands. Created after the construction of Coralville Dam on the Iowa River, this area provides vital habitat for a variety of wildlife species including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, waterfowl, and numerous fish species. The reservoir and surrounding lands serve as critical stopover points for migratory birds and support a healthy ecosystem of aquatic and terrestrial plants and animals.
